Shine Labs, based in San Francisco and started in 2009, offers a meticulously curated collection of contemporary lighting and accessories that "shine" - objects that inspire a second look.
To Shine Labs, which he started in 2009, Jim Henderson brings 22 years' expertise as a lighting designer and manufacturer. He began by innovating the first UL-listed 12 volt cable wire lighting system, which launched a national lighting trend in the late 80's. Next, he went on to found 2thousand degrees in 1994, producing lighting fixtures that incorporated mouthblown glass shades with unique finishes and color combinations that have left a lasting impression on the lighting industry to even this day. 2thousand degrees was eventually acquired by Tech Lighting and Henderson was instrumental in the development of new products at both, including their new and innovative railtones™ wireless speaker system. When his contract ended in 2008, he aimed his savvy toward Asia and the South Pacific for Shine Labs, seeking out master craftsman and artisans to introduce new materials, styles and trends to enlighten the North American lighting and accessories marketplace.
Many of the additional staff at Shine Labs worked together with Jim at 2thousand degrees and it is our continued desire to offer unique, beautiful and functional products that have a great respect for the materials used to produce them.
